The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on businesses, resulting in changes to business culture and consumer behaviour. It has accelerated digital transformation, caused disruptions in global supply chains, and created new business opportunities for some companies. As a result, knowledge sharing has also been affected in many ways, particularly in the drivers that facilitate the process. Given the significance and scope of these challenges, it is essential to analyse the primary and long-term consequences that impact business and organisational processes. It is important to note that the impacts of the pandemic are not the same for all organisations, including family businesses, which have different sizes, scopes, and structures. Therefore, this study aims to answer several questions: what are the knowledge-sharing drivers in small and medium-sized family firms? How has the COVID-19 pandemic changed these drivers? And how are these changes in attitude interpreted? To address these questions, we designed and analysed a conceptual model among employees in family businesses within the restaurant and fast-food industry. In the first phase, we conducted an exploratory analysis using the Delphi method to identify the essential drivers and factors for knowledge sharing in family businesses. In the second phase, we conducted a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) for both pre-and post-pandemic eras. The findings indicate a significant shift in attitudes towards knowledge-sharing drivers from organisational drivers in the pre-pandemic era to technological drivers after the pandemic emerged. |
